LockStar Salon newest pictures and information

A special thanks to all of my wonderful friends and clients that came to my salon space the past couple months! Your support means the world to me and I will always remember how wonderful you have been!! I couldn't ask for a better group of people to have on my side!!

Sorry it took me so long to update my blog, things have been just crazy for me lately! There are so many things that I have to do to keep this business going smoothly. I never thought there would be half as much work as there is!

I have been buying new equipment and furniture left and right! I've also been creating inventory files, an online client database system, working on brochures, price lists, websites, and order forms! I feel like I live at the beauty supply stores and this has all been on top of servicing clients weekly. It will still take some time for me to be completely organized and set up! But I am well on my way. Check out how professional and convenient the salon is as of today:

My wood floor is completed, my chair has arrived and is assembled, I have my squishy mat so I can stand comfortably on my feet all day long, I purchased a shampoo bowl and chair, I got a desk that also serves as my mixing station! What a set up and what a blessing! I could never have done any of these things without my husband's love and support. He is such a fantastic man and I am so lucky to have him in my life.

I would still like to get more shelving and some nice decor on the walls. And also, I'm trying to create an awesome logo and get the salon name up on the wall somewhere. I'm thinking of perhaps doing cool, original artwork with the logo since I love being creative and artistic. But I need the creative juices to flow first!

Here's just a few more pics of the salon currently:

This picture above shows the new color shelf that my thoughtful husband bought for me and put together while I was away from the house for the day. I am so lucky to have him! Did I say that already?? ;)  This is just a perfect shelf to put my color line on and its so nice to be organized.

The flooring when it was completed (:  Looks great, right!?

My new desk and mixing station, new washbowl and chair. (Also, random chair on the side of the pic! I am not sure why it is there and forgot to remove before taking the picture! )

My shelves, station, and chair.

I created really handy corner shelves out of magazine holders!
Thanks Pinterest!!!

Here are some favorite pictures of hair that came in to see me this past month:

We did an all over medium brown with blonde and auburn highlights. It took us awhile to get there, Jen! But I absolutely LOVED the final result! (:

My great friend and my professional photographer, Amy J. We touched up her blonde and renewed her beautiful highlights! Loved how it turned out and really enjoyed talking to you while you were here! So kinda jealous of your long, thick BEAUTIFUL hair. You lucky girl!   <3

Lashelle traveled all the way from Tucson to come see my new space and get a new look! I love these colors together and I'm so happy I got to see my friend after so many years!

This is my favorite aunt. Before pic and After pic. I really really REALLY like the short dark hair on you, Aunt Colette!

This is my beautiful mommy. We retouched her dark brown hair, did some very soft subtle red highlights and trimmed her length, adding a few layers!

Courtney, I think you may be my favorite head of hair this past month. I LOVED your highlights and do not think I could have done a better job! (LOL do I sound conceited?!) They are so pretty and they definitely match your pretty face! <3

Alisha came all the way from Surprise! We gave her more extreme blonde and bright red highlights! Love these colors on medium brown locks and I love her bangs and face frame.

Well everyone, I will do better from now on at posting new info and pictures as things occur. I hope everyone is doing well and please call and make your appointment today! I can not wait to see you!!!!

Ready, set, GO!

Its official! My salon room is a fully organized, functioning area! I'm so stoked to finally have everything set up. My business cards are here and I'm waiting on some price lists to be sent. I have a mirror, shelves, and some basics. Today I put up LockStar Salon's Facebook page, and ordered a professional styling chair and a mat! I'm crossing my fingers that by Monday my husband and I can agree on some wood flooring to replace the carpet that's in there. If that gets installed fast I'll be completely up and a operating salon space!

Thank you to all my friends and family that have supported me in this. And thank you wonderful beautiful husband of mine! For working so hard to take care of our family so that I'm able to take the time and energy to start up this dream. I don't know what I would do without Jason he has helped me get this room started up so quickly! I'm just so grateful for all my blessings.

I want everyone to know that doing hair is my passion. I love making people look and feel their best! Please come in to get a new hair do and see my new space. I will give you a fair, affordable price and a GREAT look! Can't wait to see you!

Here are some pictures of my finished space. I plan to stain some of the furniture pieces, my chair will be here in a week, and my flooring will be installed shortly after that!

I apologize about not having a shampoo bowl available yet. The plumbing and equipment are too expensive for right now; its a goal I will have to work towards. I still have to use my kitchen sink for now!   :(

Making every day a better day than yesterday

Just posting quickly, trying to keep everybody updated! Things have been crazy busy preparing and planning for my upcoming wedding. The big day will be here soon, so I apologize, but the salon and future blogs will have to be postponed until after the wedding and things have settled down some.
I've been spending my days with my puppy, Bella. I'm so lucky to have her! She is such good, sweet company... She is my best friend and is always here for me to talk to and vent to about all the stress in life!

Thanks for reading my blog!!!!
As soon as the wedding is over, and life has quieted down I'll be blogging current pictures and more salon information! Thank you for your patience, I'll be back!!!

Hi! I'm Chelsea Johnson, soon to be Anderson since I'm preparing to get married on May 7th! I've been in this industry for seven years and I love it! While at Earl's Academy of Beauty (now called Avalon School of Cosmetology) I was trained in advanced hair concepts, performance, and solutions using mostly Paul Mitchell and TIGI hair products.

I continue to expand my knowledge through continual educational classes and Hair Shows. Being a well-rounded stylist, I can accommodate the needs of both edgy and conservative clients. I always provide a thorough consultation for each and every guest to ensure that they will have a wonderful experience while in my chair, at LockStar Salon.

I love using my creativity to customize a look that reflects each client’s individual style. I enjoy making my customers happy and like educating them about their own hair. My philosophy is to really listen to each client and do my best to incorporate their desires with what will be the most flattering style for them. I enjoy meeting new people and helping them feel beautiful.

I love working in my own salon that embodies my beliefs and rituals of service. I love creating fun and trendy hairstyles in an environment of upbeat people! I look forward to coming to work every day knowing I will make someone else’s day with a great new cut or color.

A little about me.... I was born here in Arizona and I am one of thirteen children!
I love to read, I put new books on my cell phone constantly! Thanks to technology, I can carry my current book around in my pocket with me and I always have that ability to dive into different worlds whenever I have a spare moment!
I love to work with disabled children (specializing in those with Autism and Down Syndrome.) My little sister has Down Syndrome and she is my best friend. Theres nothing more important to me than my treasured time with her. One of my favorite Sunday activities is to go to her house so we can have a tea party. She calls me constantly during each week to invite me!!
I also love swimming in the summer and snowboarding with my soon-to-be husband and step-son in the winter.

My fiancĂ©es name is Jason. He is most certainly my better half. I would be utterly lost without him in my life. For the past five years he was doing audio engineering for a living, mostly at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale. About a year ago he started a new occupation and is now working with his dad, formulating products for a company his father co-founded in 2002, called Isagenix. He is really great at his job, he's a wonderful, creative chef and he is extremely (sometimes annoyingly) smart. He is always watching science, discovery, health shows, and the news on TV. I love to complain about this but he helps me keep my life current (:
Jason's son, Logan, is also a big part of my life! Logan is six and he loves playing sports, going to kindergarten, playing video games and watching movies.

I have a passion for life and believe that love is the most powerful gift. I describe my style as both conservative and edgy. Conservative is classic, you can never go wrong; but edgy can be very fashion forward!
